Tracking the Quarter
UCI runs on a 10-week quarterly calendar (10 weeks of classes + 1 week of finals). Therefore your UCI undergrad RAs will work for 10 weeks in the quarter, and take off for finals week and for breaks.
Throughout the typical UCI quarter, there are a lot of things to keep track of, especially with a large lab. Here is a (rudimentary) calendar of items to keep track of how things are going throughout the quarter (and year).

Week 1:

Assign an RA to handle the DoSC Social Media (Twitter/Insta)

Iron out scheduling issues with all RAs​

Make sure to update the In-Lab Openings Calendar (or set up appointment slots if working remotely)
Week 2:

Focus on training all RAs on studies they have not been trained on

Review lab needs and do task assignment for the Quarter

Review project progress and think about goals for individual projects

Check-in with RAs for a beginning of the quarter assessment
Week 3:

Typically when SURP and UROP applications are due

Send out availability form in order to create the schedule for next quarter.

Make sure you have coverage for Finals Weeks

Book a room for lab meetings for the following quarter

Check-in with RAs for an end-of-quarter assessment
Week 10:

Email museums (i.e. Pretend City or Discovery Cube) cancelling any shifts during breaks that don't have coverage
Finals Week:

If Spring Quarter, make sure to email summer RAs and give them a week of break before they come back to lab
- Make sure the lab website is updated
